Colin Firth played Mark Darcy in the BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY movie.

Firth plays Lord Wessex, who is severely opposed to the writings of William Shakespeare in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (1998). In BLACK ADDER BACK AND FORTH (2000), Firth plays William Shakespeare.

He attempts to kill Joseph Fiennes' character for sleeping with his fiancee in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. Similarly, in THE ENGLISH PATIENT (1996), Colin Firth's character attempts to kill Ralph Fiennes' character (Joseph's brother) for sleeping with his wife.
