Claudia Black Biography

Claudia Lee Black (born October 11, 1972, in Sydney) is an Australian actress of Jewish descent.

She is currently best known for her portrayal of Aeryn Sun in the science fiction television series Farscape, for which she was nominated Best Actress by Saturn Award in 2001 and 2002 and won the award in 2005. She has appeared in the feature films Queen of the Damned and Pitch Black. Black also appeared as Vala Mal Doran in an 8th season episode of Stargate SG-1 called Prometheus Unbound in 2005, and again later in eight (9x01-9x06 & 9x19-9x20) season 9 episodes. The Sci-Fi channel announced on November 21st 2005 that Black will return to Stargate SG-1 full-time in season 10.
