Alexandra Maria Lara, byname of Alexandra Plătăreanu (born 12 November 1978) is a Romanian-German actress.
Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Bucharest.
She moved with her family to Germany when she was four and a half; there she was educated at the French High School in Berlin and then afterwards studied at the acting school Charlottenburg Theaterwerkstatt. By the age of 16 she was already playing lead roles in various television dramas. Since then her career has developed and she has become a respected film actress.
Her most famous role to date, which has resulted in international recognition, is as Traudl Junge, Hitler's secretary in the Oscar Nominated 2004 film Der Untergang.
