A Perfect Murder Trivias
Viggo Mortensen is an accomplished painter, and all David's artworks are Mortensen's own.
During the attempt on Emily's life her hair is in a ponytail, then it's down, then it's up in a ponytail again. This happens a few times during the fight. When Emily is talking to Raquel at the bar it can be seen that Emily's eyes are blue. But on the rest of the film, her eyes are brown.
When detective Karaman shows Emily the pictures and the sketches of he murdered man, you can see the man stabbed on the left side of the neck on the picture (as really happened), but on the right side of the neck on both sketches.
Emily's hair scrunchie appears in her hair as she is answering the phone and seems to have fallen out during the struggle but reappears and disappears several times throughout the attack. When Emily is questioned at the police station, her turtleneck sweater keeps moving around. Sometimes it's unrolled practically up to her eyes, while other times it's pushed down to her chin.
While Karaman is questioning Steven in the kitchen, he points out that Steven's footprints are visible all around the body in the blood. We also have seen that when Emily left the kitchen she left a trail of bloody footprints. However, when Steven runs to the door to fix the lock, he miraculously leaves no bloody prints on the floor. The last scene of the film, when Emily is being interviewed by the detective, she is obviously wearing a wig.
The title, "A Perfect Murder", is a quote from the 1954 Hitchcock version of this story, "Dial M For Murder". See Memorable Quotes from "Dial M For Murder".Many of the artworks featured in this film are Mortensen's own.
